You better have your eye on TobyMac’s new album “Eye On It”.
Releasing on 28th of August, Eye On It is pretty much a dream come true for the R&B and Electro-pop fans.  I admit, when I heard about his new album I was not very excited; Toby has been in the game for a long time and really needed to deliver in order to not loose fans. And he did. Eye On It is an amazing step up from his old albums… it goes way above all expectations.
In a Can: This album features R&B/Electro-pop songs that are basically flawless and polished obviously by Toby’s years of experience. His vocals are perfect, his beats (especially on Thankful) are fresh, lyrics are solid and authentic, synth lines are solid. The only song that is rather cliche is Family which sounds like an Adel track. That being said, TobyMac still makes it work really well. There are about four or five different styles of songs on the album which makes it very diverse and nice to listen too.
On the Deluxe version of the album Toby’s son Tru returns with two dubstep (one is just a remix) influenced songs which work amazing.  The two Telemitry remixes are my favorites which feature dubstep influences, solid lyrics, great gloss, and other awesome qualities.
To sum up: I would definitely go buy the deluxe version of this album the day it releases. It’s a great, polished work of musical art done by someone who knows the trade well.

Ramblings From the Mind…

I think a lot of Christians have trouble grasping how intense God’s love is for them. When I think of God’s love, the words furious, rich, and reckless come to mind. How amazing is it that the God who spoke the stars into being would look upon me. How could He love me?
__________________________________________________________
You see, love isn’t just something you have for the kid you pass by in the halls of the school. Love isn’t even necessarily what you feel for your friends…or even family. Love is not just an emotion, it’s something you actively practice.  Love is knowing someone is going to fail you, but still looking out for them, putting yourself last and forgiving them. Love is being patient, kind, gentle, faithful, and forgiving. On a human scale, Love is when two beings are like this to each other.
_____________________________________________________________
And so what does it mean for God to love us like that every day. We mess up every day, yet this love of His never fails and never changes.
_____________________________________________________________
I think to fully understand God’s love for us we have to look at the cross. We have to stop thinking too hard (or too little, depends on who you are). God loved Jesus, but He gave him up for us. He gave him up for the people who were still sinning and who were going to continue to sin. That is Amazing.
______________________________________________________________
I don’t know how to explain it, but when I look at the cross I have peace.  When I look at the cross, I am speechless, literally. I can’t move. But I am at peace. When I look at the cross, I could sit there all day, marveling at what Jesus did, what God did. When I look at the cross I know that God’s love is sufficient. It is then that I realize that even if no one else in this world loved me, His love would be enough.
______________________________________________________________
So my question for you is; do you know how vast, how furious, how reckless, and how rich God’s love is for you?

Fireflight has their newest album out (“Now”) on iTunes. In the past, I have always found their albums to have diversity and meaningful lyrics.  With their last album, ‘For Those Who Wait’, the band set the bar incredibly high.  When I heard about ‘Now’ coming out, I was worried that the album would fall flat. By the power of God, they have completely blown their old record off the charts.

‘Now’ is probably one of the best christian rock albums on the market now, so go get it! And enjoy this song; “Stay Close”.

HISway is very excited to give you the latest news from the Christian music world.
As we are all aware of, unfortunately, David Crowder* Band is no longer together.  The good news though, it that Crowder will be apart of a new collective (appropriately named “Crowder”) that will be making it’s first performance at the East Creation Fest in June.
What I am personally most excited for is the fo rmation of the new band “The Digital Age” which is made up of Parker, Dodson, Bush, and Waldrop who are all members of the old David Crowder* Band.  Hopefully this group will let some of their electrona/synth  abilities (best show-cased in David Crowder* Band’s song “The Veil”) shine through in the new band’s style while keeping a strong Christian message. So keep on the watch for Digital Age because they just might turn out to be a great band.

On Saturday hundreds of souls sang to the LORD. Not the people, but the souls.

It was no ordinary worship session when School of Worship began to play “With Everything” at Acquire the Fire in Everett. As the students came to the part in the song with the only lyric “whoa” passion flooded the room. It wasn’t planned by the band- it was planned by God and employed by the obedient hearts of His children.

A myriad of souls of students sang just that little bit of the song (5:24 on the video) with all their hearts. They were united as one for 20 whole minuets. 20 minuets of singing the word whoa, and no one got sick of it. They just sang at the top of their lungs. It was a celestial time.

That was the power of the spirit. That was a transitory moment of Heaven on earth.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

-Matthew 6:9b-10

This is Manic Drive’s song “Walls”.  They are an electronic-influenced Christian band and have been making music since 1996.

They also have a new song out called “Halo” which is also good.

So put your skater shoes and hoodie on and dance like nobody is looking at you- because this is the perfect let-go song.
